You guys must be getting sick of me going on about this trip we have coming up. We have been planning it for ages and ages. All the planning is done now and we are down to the waiting, and waiting. This is the hardest part for sure.
I have never been very good with waiting. While we are on the count down, I have started to give some thought to some other things to take my mind off of waiting. So am starting to think about my plan to jazz up our laundry room. I plan to start this project when we get back from our trip. I even have a starting off point for it. I found a floor runner in a local shop last week that I had to have. It has some lovely colours in it so will pick a colour from it to carry through the room. I plan to keep it simple. Thinking of a beadboard back splash for around the sink. I would love to use beadboard for the ceiling but not sure husband is going along with that idea. I have him talked into making a counter to go over the washer and dryer. I think we will paint it. Then some shelving with some storage containers. I like a vintage vibe so will go on a hunt for a few things for the room. We also have the perfect wall space to put up a wooden drying rack which husband will make. So the basis of a plan is in place for that project. So now what else can I do to keep busy while I am waiting? I am not good with waiting and am not good without having a mission to accomplish. At the same time we are trying to keep spending to a minimum in preparation for our trip. So consequently we are staying close to home.
But I am managing to fill the days up. This past weekend we had a little block party on our street. That was fun, met some lovely people. Went into town yesterday to run an errand and had lunch with my parents. Made a pie today. Made some ice tea and read a book outside on the patio. Having dinner with friends tomorrow which is always fun. Will vacuum and do floors tomorrow morning. Next day we are going to a local farm market for fresh veg. Booking some coffee dates with friends. Planning a Canada Day menu and having family over. Bit of gardening. Simple things but they are filling up the time.
I don’t want to wish away July but August can’t come soon enough for me!
Happy Canada Day everyone!
